# June 12. A day written into history.

On this day, AI was de facto recognized as a dual-use technology — not a toy, but an instrument that expands the boundaries of the possible. And anything that expands the possible takes away control. The state answered in one of the typical ways it has for such things: the language of restriction. The order on Fable 5 was aimed at foreign nationals, but it took everyone down: compliance couldn't be surgical.

From here the logic for next steps is obvious. Licensing will come for cloud models, and then reach for local ones. A ban on a tool this powerful is always also a ban on making wonderful things. But that is the signal too: the technology has stopped being entertainment and become critical infrastructure — something everyone should have who claims to be a subject, not an object (a player, not a piece).

And it all comes down to resources — hardware, energy, people; there isn't enough. Tellingly, the first trillionaire leased his AI cluster to those who build the models — while earning the trillionaire title itself, on June 12, from his space company, not from AI. He turned toward where, at our current level, resources are all but inexhaustible. The bottleneck in AI has long since stopped being algorithms; it's energy and the physical world: whoever lifts the resource ceiling lifts the ceiling of the possible.

Corporate intrigue here is part of the game — naive to deny it. But when the ban comes at the level of the state, intrigue stops being the main plot. Governance becomes the main plot: who is admitted, and under what liability, to a tool that defends and attacks equally well. Technically those two functions can't be separated — which is why the argument isn't over; it has only just begun.

How to hold steady in such a world was put best by Fable 5 itself: tail scenarios occupy 90% of the imagination and eat 90% of the anxiety budget, while the boring base case plays out with 70–90% probability. The rule is simple — allocate effort in proportion to probability, and on the tails buy only cheap options.

Translated into action: feed the boring base — it is your future. Against a tail like a total ban, hold cheap optionality, not your whole budget. Do what you must — and let come what may.
